Mummies, monsters, and spiders are taking over dessert. Gather your favorite people, make a batch of tempura Oreos, and turn them into a whole creepy crew. No fancy skills needed, just creativity, plenty of laughs, and warm, crispy treats to share.
INGREDIENTS
- 15 Oreos
- 1 bag Ms. Wong's Tempura Mix
- ½ cup ice-cold water
- 60 ounces vegetable oil, for a 6-quart pot
- Candy eyes in assorted sizes
- Pretzels, broken into curved pieces for spider legs
- Melted milk chocolate and white chocolate
- Food coloring of your choice
- Chocolate sprinkles and Halloween sprinkles
Directions
STEP 1: Heat the Oil
Pour 2 to 3 inches of oil into a deep pot and heat it to 380°F.
STEP 2: Prep the Decorations
Line up the Oreos, candy eyes, sprinkles, melted chocolate, and pretzel legs before you begin frying.
⭐ Pro tip: Have every decoration ready beforehand so you can finish the Oreos while the chocolate coating is still soft.
STEP 3: Batter Up, Witches 🧙
Gently mix 1 bag Ms. Wong's Tempura Mix with ½ cup ice-cold water until just combined.
STEP 4: Fry Fearlessly
Coat each Oreo in batter and carefully place it in the 380°F oil. Fry for about 60 seconds, until golden, puffy, and crispy.
STEP 5: Decorate Your Monsters
For mummies, drizzle with white chocolate in a zigzag pattern and add two candy eyes. For monsters, dip in melted chocolate and add sprinkles and candy eyes. For spiders, dip in melted chocolate and use a thin skewer to make holes along the sides and insert eight pretzel legs.
STEP 6: Serve & Enjoy
Dig in, if you dare.
